Seattle has long been known for its prolific music scene, and now travelers coming through the Seattle Tacoma International Airport will get the ultimate local music experience. Dubbed “Experience the City of Music, ” this new program was launched January 28 inside Seattle’s airport. Program effects include overheard music played by local bands, service announcements read by local musicians, and video segments broadcasted through airport monitors. Saturday’s kick off event saw live performances at the south end baggage claim and aboard Seattle’s link light rail. Featured bands included Recess Monkey, Carrie Clark and the Lonesome Lovers, Fly Moon Royalty, and The Dusty 45’s. Catch some pics from the show including adorable dancing kids below, with more on Flickr and full coverage on SSG Music.
