Ballard has a cute new Italian restaurant! Dubbed San Fermo, the rustic trattoria is located in a pair of transformed nineteenth-century houses, and now operates under the helm of Chef Sam West, formerly of nearby restaurant Percy’s. The restaurant is backed by a trio of seasoned restauranteurs: Tim Baker and partners Jeff Ofelt and Wade Weigel, the guys who also brought us Rudy’s barbershops, the Ace Hotel, Bimbo’s, Cha Cha, and Percy’s. Similar to their other projects, San Fermo has a very aesthetically pleasing vibe throughout its rather large and diverse interior which includes a front dining room with an open kitchen, a more private back dining room an intimate bar area, and plentiful outdoor patio seating. In the back room, check out the impressive wall-mounted collection of wooden cutting boards, all hand-forged by Baker himself. Food-wise, the menu is inspired by regional Italian cuisine and includes handmade pasta, sandwiches, and more.
Check out photos of San Fermo’s beautiful interior below, as well as photos from their food and cocktail menu.
San Fermo is located at 5347 Ballard Ave NW and is open for lunch and dinner 7 nights a week, as well as a special Sunday night farmer’s market supper.
