This month, the Sheraton Hotel in Seattle debuted their Star Wars Gingerbread Village as part of their 23rd anniversary. Each year, the Sheraton picks a new theme for their gingerbread village, and it seemed all too appropriate that this year’s inspiration was Star Wars. The artistic displays were excellent artistic examples that made for unique Seattle food photography images. All displays were carefully put together by the Sheraton Hotel’s culinary team working alongside local architecture and construction firms. All of the displays felt larger than life as they towered above many spectators. However, closer examination of each display showed many smaller vignettes of familiar scenes and characters from George Lucas’ blockbuster film. The Star Wars Gingerbread Village display launched just weeks prior to the much anticipated debut of the latest franchise installment, Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
The gingerbread village is located at the Sheraton Hotel at 1400 6th Avenue. Access to the display is free and open to the public 24 hours a day, 7 days a week between November 24, 2015 to January 3, 2016. Donations are being accepted on behalf of JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation), going towards Type 1 Diabetes research.
