English indie pop band The xx played a sold out show at the Showbox at the Market in Seattle on July 25, bringing new tunes as well as older hits into the mix. Dressed in all black against an ominously dark backdrop, the silhouettes of guitarist Romy Madley-Croft, bassist Oliver Sim, and drummer/keyboardist Jamie Smith drifted in and out of a foggy mist, perfectly choreographing their moves with their forlorn songs. The set was comprised of all the tracks off their hit debut self-titled album and included a few off their upcoming LP Coexist, due for release in September.
