This is a story of doomed love. On Sunday, Seattle woman Babylonia Aivaz wed a warehouse in the Capitol Hill neighborhood as a show of anti-gentrification. Aivaz is an Occupy Seattle protester who fell in love with the community space which is now being bulldozed to make way for a new apartment complex. The eclectic ceremony was held outdoors in the rain, as the warehouse was fenced off. Children blew bubbles while a “minister” led the exchange of vows and the crowd began singing “Lean on Me.” See photos of the event below with more on Flickr and full coverage on Capitol Hill Seattle.

Great photos! I’ll pass this link and your Flickr stream along to Babylonia and the gang.
