Taste Washington

One of Washington's best food festivals is Taste Washington. This annual multi-day event takes place across many iconic venues in Seattle such as AQUA by El Gaucho, the Four Seasons Hotel, and CenturyLink Event Center. I've attended many times in the past and always enjoyed eating and drinking my way through the Grand Tasting. It's a great way to connect with chefs and winemakers from

Ono Loa Cookbook

Earlier this year, I was lucky to work with my mom on her latest passion project: her second cookbook. The Ono Loa Cookbook recently launched in Hawaii featuring 230 recipes from 25 public high school culinary programs. In April of this year, we traveled to 14 of those schools. The mission was to take photos, record video, and interview the students and teachers. Much of

Lady Yum Seattle

Among the hottest food trends to hit Seattle and Bellevue is that of macarons and champagne. Lady Yum specializes in both, offering the treats in a comfortable yet fancy environment in Bellevue. Recently, Lady Yum expanded west to Seattle. It's located at the base of one of Amazon's newest corporate offices, near 2120 Restaurant. The brand new Lady Yum corner space is a bit small.

Photos: Cedarbrook Lodge

Located just minutes away from SeaTac Airport, Cedarbrook Lodge is a little slice of heaven that often flies under the radar. It's ideal not only for work retreats, but also urban getaways and staycations. As it turns out, I photographed my first (and only) wedding here. I also had one of my first dates with my now-husband at the Copperleaf. This summer, it was an

Heartwood Provisions Fall 2017 Menu

One of my favorite restaurants in Seattle is Heartwood Provisions. With an emphasis on food dishes paired with cocktails, the menu at Heartwood is ever-changing. There's always new, seasonal dishes to taste and photograph. Last fall we photographed a variety of items. The Fall 2017 menu has lots of goodies on it including a risotto, crab pasta, and grilled chicken thighs. Take a look at

Fletcher’s Meats

Some of the best meats you'll find in Seattle grocery stores come from Fletcher's. This Washington-based company specializes in a wide variety of meats including sausages, hot dogs, hams, and bacon. This summer, I did a few photo shoots with Fletcher's products. One was a standard product shoot on a white backdrop. The other two were styled food shoots with Fletcher's products: cheese dip with

Photos: Depeche Mode

Depeche Mode recently swung by Seattle as part of their 2017 Global Spirit Tour. To say that fans were stoked for the night was an understatement. Not only did the show sell out in record time, but fans were packed inside of KeyArena long before the band took the stage. Many fans were also decked out in Depeche Mode memorabilia and costumes. The band clearly

Kamonegi

Mutsuko Soma made a name for herself in the Seattle culinary scene with her handmade soba noodles. Guests would flock to her former outpost at Miyabi 45th in Wallingford just for a steaming bowl of soba. After taking some time off, Soma returns to the spotlight with her brand new restaurant, Kamonegi. Located in Fremont-Wallingford, Kamonegi is one of few restaurants in the nation with

Photos: 3 Weeks in Italy

If things seem like they've been quiet on this blog, it's all for a good reason! In late August, I traveled to Italy for my wedding and honeymoon. The trip itself lasted about 3.5 weeks and was absolutely outstanding. As you can imagine, planning a destination wedding, even an intimate one, was a challenge. So much of the time prior to leaving was spent with lots
