Photos: New Kids on the Block, Boyz II Men, and 98 Degrees

As a kid who grew up in the 90's, it should come as no surprise that I absolutely had to photograph New Kids on the Block, 98 Degrees, and Boyz II Men when they stopped by the Tacoma Dome last week. The chance to shoot my childhood pop icons was thrilling, and I wasn't the only one in awe. The whole dome was filled with

Photos: Sasquatch Music Festival 2013

This year, I once again had the honor of attending and photographing the Sasquatch Music Festival at The Gorge in Washington. It was a fantastic lineup, with local hip-hop star Macklemore headlining a very emotional first night, and The Postal Service closing out the festival on Monday night. Highlights of this year’s fest were of course Macklemore, with his glorious homecoming, The Postal Service’s long

Words: Prince at the Showbox in Seattle

Few words can describe what it is like to see Prince live in concert, but I attempted to write a review of his opening U.S. West Coast tour when it kicked off in Seattle on April 18. Performing in the intimate venue of the Showbox at the Market near Pike Place, Prince and his backing band 3rdEyeGirl put on a helluva rock ‘n’ roll show

On April 15, iconic punk band Bad Religion performed a stellar concert at Seattle’s Showbox SoDo. California-based hardcore punk band The Bronx (also of Mariachi El Bronx fame) opened the show, with lead singer Matt Caughthran ever the performer. Check out a few photos from the show below, with  the full set up on Flickr.

Photos: Rihanna and A$AP Rocky in Seattle

It’s hard to believe that Rihanna has been performing for nearly a decade now. Going through her catalogue in preparation for seeing her live, I’d kind of forgotten just how many hit songs Rihanna had, and just how many I knew all the words to. From her first hit “Pon de Replay” in 2005, to “Umbrella” in 2008, to “S&M” in 2010 to 2012’s “Diamonds,”

Photos: SXSW 2013 Music Coverage

As I took on my second SXSW week of music mania in Austin, Texas, this past week, I couldn’t help but think that the behemoth of a festival seemed bigger than ever. Lines were longer, shows were more packed, and getting into shows was nearly impossible, even for those with so-called “press/photo passes.” Anyway, my 6 days of running around SXSW left me feeling one
