English musical group Portishead brought their long-awaited live show to Seattle's WaMu Theater on October 23, to the delight of hundreds of fans. This was the band's first trip to the Northwest since 2002.  Full gallery is up on Flickr.

zomBcon, Seattle's premier zombie gathering, went down during the weekend of October 22, bringing fans of the undead to the SeaTac Hilton to enjoy merch, signings, and celebrity panels. The third annual SteamCon went down at the Hyatt Regency, Bellevue, WA during the weekend of October 16.  Costumed Steampunk aficionados filled the conference rooms of the hotel for three days straight, relishing in each others' elaborate outfits and attending various forums.  Check out all the costumes at Metromix Seattle, with more photos on Flickr!

Photos: Odd Future in Seattle

Alternative hip-hoppers Odd Future brought their chaotic act to Seattle for the first time ever this fall, performing before a screaming sold out audience at the Showbox.  Most members wore Seattle-related T-shirts, one featuring Nirvana, and another with Sean Kemp's Sonics jersey. While nothing too traumatic happened, the notoriously crazy rappers more than lived up to the expectations of fans.  Check out the published post

Photos: Fremont Oktoberfest 2011

The annual Fremont Oktoberfest went down from September 23-25 in Seattle, WA bringing out tons of people for samplings of beer, pretzels, and other German fare.  Quite possibly the most 'fun' spectacles included the chainsaw pumpkin carving, 5K run, and CityDog Magazine's dog modeling contest.  Some fun stats via Fremont Universe: 20,000 people gathered in the Tasting Garden to taste over 100 beers. 5,000 guests

Bumbershoot 2011, Seattle's annual Labor Day weekend music and arts festival, went down at the Seattle Center this year with a new approach.  Not only was the layout changed, but the lineup strategy also differed in that there were more bands to see, many of them from the Pacific Northwest.  Three days straight of entertainment saw the likes of Charles Bradley, Fitz and the Tantrums,

Arctic Monkeys & The Vaccines rock Seattle

British indie rockers Arctic Monkeys and The Vaccines stopped by the Pacific Northwest to play a sold out show at the Showbox SoDo on August 11.  The show was packed with fans, many of whom cheered and sang along with the band's every song.
