Earlier this year, I was contacted by Heather Lundy, owner and activist of Kind Awakening. A small business specializing in organic, small-batch premium cannabis oils for vape pens, Kind Awakening is based on Colorado and has recently expanded into Seattle. With their expansion, they were looking for lifestyle photos for use on their brand new website. I was brought on as the photographer to execute the lifestyle photo shoot and offer creative direction during the planning process of the shoot. At my suggestion, we decided to use this shoot to highlight not only Kind Awakening’s products, but also the fashions and accessories of local designer April Pride. After several weeks of planning, we finally executed the shoot in early March 2015, blasting through 5 different looks in 3 hours.
Below are some details that helped frame the direction of the shoot, photo credits to the fantastic creative dream team that helped make this shoot possible, and a few of my favorite shots from the shoot. The brand new Kind Awakening website, designed by Shane Harris, launched publicly in early April 2015. An especially big thank you to Heather Lundy and Tallulah Anderson for pulling this together!
Visually uphold Kind Awakening’s mission through stylish lifestyle photos on the website. The goal of Kind Awakening’s products is to transform lives through medical-grade cannabis that has been infused with essential oils. These photos will accompany content and branding messages that seek to fight stigmas that prevent people from accepting and experiencing medical-grade marijuana.
Upper-middle class, primarily female audience. The goal is to appeal to non-stoner mentality customers.
