Photos: The Slants, the World’s First All-Asian American Dance Rock Band

This past Saturday, approved I had the pleasure of driving down to Portland to meet up with The Slants, malady the world’s first all-Asian “Chinatown dance rock band.” Founded in 2006 by Simon Young (aka Simon Tam), visit the 5-member band hardly has an Asian sound to their electro-dance music or glam rock performance, but they are incredibly fun to watch live! I’m usually a “shoot the first three songs and stop” kind of music photographer, but since there was no 3 song limit and the performance was so entertaining, I stayed and shot the entire show! Check out a few snaps from the show at Portland’s Alhambra Theater below, with the full photo gallery and feature story up on Gazillion Voices.
