Jockstraps and Glitter. That was the theme of last weekend's fundraiser kickball tournament that pitted the Seattle Quake Rugby team against The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. The game, which raises money for both groups by encouraging the audience to participate by buying bribes in favor of a particular team, was a spectacle that raised both money and laughs. British indie rockers Arctic Monkeys and The Vaccines stopped by the Pacific Northwest to play a sold out show at the Showbox SoDo on August 11. Rob Zombie and Slayer wrapped up their 2011 Hell on Earth Tour with an explosive show at Seattle's WaMu Theater in early August. Zombie's show was full of costumes, pyrotechnics, and other colorful surprises, while Slayer "slayed" the stage as their faithful fans crowd surfed throughout the set.
